More work for military contractor

Sparton Corp. has landed additional work for the U.S. Navy.
The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a $107 million modification of a previous contract with Sparton DeLeon Springs LLC, which is an exercise “of an option for the production and delivery of a maximum of 20,000” sonobuoys. Sonobuoys are devices used in anti-submarine warfare.
The majority of the work, 54 percent, will be performed at the DeLeon Springs plant. The remaining 46 percent will be done at the company’s facilities in Columbia City, Indiana. The newest work order is to be completed in December 2026.
